Shopping in Post Falls follows the freeway. The large stores sit near Interstate 90: two supercenters at opposite ends of town, an outdoor retailer's store off Cabela Way, and furniture and mattress showrooms along W Riverbend Avenue and Expo Parkway at the west end.

The smaller shops are scattered: clothing boutiques, gift, art and craft sellers, convenience stores, stove and spa dealers, and a public market downtown on E 3rd Avenue. Several of the listings are makers who sell online or by appointment rather than from a storefront.

Each November the city holds a holiday craft fair of handmade goods from local vendors at two Post Falls locations; 2026 was its eighth year. The Post Falls Festival in July has a homemade craft fair on its Saturday.
